Cloud & Security Architect - Azure & M365

As Cloud & Security Architect for Azure and M365, you are responsible for the target architecture of the cloud and workplace environment. You define and further develop governance, security, and compliance standards, derive technical controls from internal and external requirements, and work closely with the managed service provider to ensure architecture and security decisions are implemented and documented as part of the ISMS.

Your Tasks

  • Take responsibility for the target architecture of the cloud and workplace environment.
  • Define and further develop governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Derive and implement technical measures from BSI Grundschutz, internal security policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and assess solutions for Microsoft Azure, especially IaaS, networking, identity, and governance.
  • Design and assess solutions for Microsoft 365, especially Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Design and secure Entra ID, including IAM, Conditional Access, and Zero Trust patterns.
  • Shape and secure endpoint management with Intune and Autopilot.
  • Define technical and organisational measures and implement them technically.
  • Approve architecture and design decisions from a technical perspective.
  • Work closely with the MSP on guardrails, reviews, and quality assurance.
  • Document architecture decisions and security requirements as part of the ISMS.

Required Skills

  • Experience designing cloud architectures independently.
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure, especially IaaS, networking, security, and governance.
  • Deep understanding of the Microsoft 365 platform.
  • Deep understanding of Entra ID, especially identity, Conditional Access, and Zero Trust.
  • Experience with cloud governance and security architectures.
  • Understanding and practical application of BSI Grundschutz.
  • Understanding of IT security requirements and compliance.
  • Ability to justify and enforce security and architecture decisions.

Desired Skills

  • You think in guardrails rather than one-off solutions.
  • You make sure security is documented and implemented.
