IT Operation Expert – Application Operations & Virtualisation

As IT Operation Expert in the area of application operations and virtualisation, you work on building, operating, and further developing a new IT environment for defence applications. You manage servers, applications, and system environments with a focus on Linux, automation, and stable operations. The role requires willingness to undergo security vetting at Ü1 and potentially Ü2 level.
Your Tasks
- Administer servers and applications based on Linux.
- Develop and implement automations using modern CI/CD techniques.
- Support users with questions and problems.
- Ensure system availability within defined SLAs.
Required Skills
- Completed degree or apprenticeship in computer science or a comparable technical qualification; career changers with comparable experience are welcome.
- Confident use of Debian GNU/Linux, in particular command line and system services.
- Good knowledge of network technologies and network tools.
- Good knowledge of automation with CI/CD, for example GitLab CI, Ansible, Terraform, or comparable.
- Excellent German language skills at C1 level and good English language skills at B1 level.
- Willingness to undergo security vetting at Ü1 and potentially Ü2 level.
Desired Skills
- Practical experience administering Proxmox environments.
- Practical experience monitoring system environments, for example with Prometheus, Grafana, or Checkmk.
- Initial experience with BSI Grundschutz.
